The Asia-Pacific Invitational Tournament brings together emerging national development teams from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

The tournament is specifically designed to bridge the pathway between junior national competitions and senior international performance environments.

Participating teams gain meaningful international match experience against Asia-Pacific development programs preparing athletes for senior national team competition.

The event provides emerging athletes with meaningful international competition experience while strengthening connections between water polo programs across the Asia-Pacific region.

International Participation

Participation is expected from leading development programs across the Asia-Pacific region, including federations from:

• Australia
• New Zealand
• Japan
• Singapore
• Thailand
• Malaysia
• Hong Kong
• China
• South Africa

Additional federations may be invited subject to tournament capacity.

Guaranteed Match Opportunities

The tournament structure has been designed to maximise meaningful international match exposure for all participating

All teams will be scheduled to play a minimum of seven

(7) international matches across the tournament through a combination of preliminary group matches and classification games.

This approach ensures that travelling teams gain substantial international competition experience while maintaining a competitive championship pathway.

The event also provides an opportunity for emerging athletes, referees, and coaches to gain international experience within the Asia-Pacific region on the pathway toward Brisbane 2032

Final competition format will be confirmed once team nominations are finalised to ensure balanced competition and meaningful match opportunities for all participating teams.
